Winter checklist for your vehicle

1. Battery

A battery that is old and not working well will not be helpful, especially on the cold days. Make sure that the battery will make it through the winter and that it is not corroded.

2. Tires

How old are your tires? Do the penny test to make sure that the tires have enough tread to safely make it through winter.

3. Fluids

Check the windshield wiper fluid to make sure that it can handle the colder weather. Consider having the coolant drained and refilled so that it is ready to go for winter as well.

4. Oil Change

When was the last time the oil in your vehicle was changed? One of the best ways to keep your vehicle in tip-top shape through winter is by changing the oil so that everything keeps running smoothly.

5. Windshield Wipers

Can you properly see when you engage your windshield wipers? Or do they leave streaks behind? If you cannot see while your windshield wipers are on, it is time to consider getting some new ones.

6. Emergency Kit

What would happen if you were to break down during inclement weather? Do you have food, water, warm clothes, etc? Create a little winter emergency kit for your vehicle.
